Pastor Roger Pollock will be Immanuel’s Interim Senior Pastor. He will be here in May and begin his full responsibilities June 1st. Some of you may recognize him because he has preached at Immanuel in the past.
Pastor Roger Pollock was born in raised in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of Concordia Milwaukee High School and Junior College, Concordia- Chicago, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois.
He has served as a Director of Christian Education and Youth at First Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska, Pastor of St Paul’s Lutheran Church Falls City, Nebraska, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin, Illinois.
While serving as a Pastor he has also been actively involved in community ministry serving the city of Elgin as the Fire Department Chaplain since 1993, the South Elgin Fire Department since2005 and as a member of the Northern Illinois Critical Incident Team.
Retiring from Parish Ministry he joined the staff of Presence St Joseph Hospital as a registry chaplain working Monday and Wednesday night. In 2012 he joined the staff of Lutheran Church Charities as Congregational Ambassador. In this position he has carried the message of Charities to congregations and schools in four states, training hundreds of people in Lutheran Early Response Team training and attended conferences and conventions as a representative of LCC.
Pastor Pollock has been married to Linda for 47 years. They are blessed with two children and four grandchildren and continue to live on the far west side of Elgin Illinois.
