Psalm 8, Psalm 103 & Psalm 139
Our “Being Human” sermon series wrapped up this weekend by focusing on excerpts from three Psalms of David where he praises God for something connected to being human. He praises God for His creation of people, the work He gives to people, and the relationship He has with people. The people of God can truly delight in their humanness!
But the reality is sometimes it’s difficult to see and praise God when things are tough. Sometimes our physical bodies fail us, our work is unfulfilling, and we feel like God is far away. The darkness of life (the sin in the world and the sin in us) is real and sometimes it obscures our view of Jesus. But the Gospel reminds us that Jesus can still see us in the darkness. The Holy Spirit enables us humans to even praise God in the darkest times.
