(1 Corinthians 13, Matthew 22:34-40, 1 John 4:7-21)
Our sermon series on love continued this weekend at Immanuel. Life really is all about love. Love is a motivator: God the Father’s sacrifice of Jesus was motivated by love.
Love flows: God’s love is pointed at us. It flows down to us and then out to others.
Love is eternal: God’s love never fails. It is a steadfast love that will sustain us for all eternity.
Love originated with God and is His gift to us. We get to abide in or live in His love. We in faith love God, and we also get to share that love with others. We can thank God for His love shown to us in Jesus and His love shown to us through the many people that love us and care for us in this life. So, I guess you could say – Love is all we need. Not love the way the world defines it, but the sacrificial love shown to us in Jesus!
