Comfort Dogs

Kye and Bekah are K-9 Comfort dogs serving at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. Their purpose is to bring the mercy, compassion, presence and proclamation of Jesus Christ to those who are suffering and in need. Kye and Bekah make visits to schools, hospice patients, nursing homes, attend visitations and funerals and travel to disaster response situations bringing comfort to those they visit. Kye and Bekah are “dual vested” and also serve with the Kare-9 Ministry. This ministry is comprised of veterans serving veterans alongside a Kare-9 dog.

Kye

Kye Comfort Dog began serving at Immanuel in 2012. Kye loves to get her tummy rubbed and play with her “stuffies”. She is especially good at getting the squeaker out! Kye has traveled across the United States to bring comfort to communities affected by disasters and tragedies. She visits many special friends in the Belvidere/Rockford area and enjoys the pets and snuggles she receives from them.

Bekah

Bekah Comfort Dog began serving at Immanuel in 2013. Bekah’s favorite games are “fetch” and “find it”. She loves her tennis balls. Bekah has traveled across the United States to bring comfort to communities affected by disasters and tragedies. She visits many special friends in the Belvidere/Rockford area and enjoys the pets and snuggles she receives from them.
