What does VBS at Immanuel look like?
While we don't follow a boxed curriculum, Immanuel's VBS looks, in many ways, like a traditional Vacation Bible School. Children are divided into small groups (usually 8-12 per group), paired with a leader, and led through game, story, music, snack, and activity stations. Here are a few sample schedules:
What will we be learning?
This year's theme comes from Luke 19:10
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
Whether it be missing coins, wandering sheep, or rebellious people, Jesus makes it clear that he's in the business of finding lost things!
Our daily focuses are:
Day 1 - Jesus tells a story of a women with a problem - a lost coin - and her rejoicing when she finds it.
Day 2 - Jesus tells of a shepherd who leaves everything to track down a wandering sheep.
Day 3 - Jesus tells the story of a father who rejoices over a son who "once was lost, but now is found."
Day 4 - Jesus does more than tell stories - he is the one who "seeks and saves the lost!"
