WORSHIP SERVICES
Immanuel holds six worship services each week. (Click here for a list of services.) Our traditional services are historically based and make use of the organ, choirs, and traditional liturgy, while our contemporary services use newer Christian praise and worship music and are led by praise teams. Our blended service uses elements of both. All services are centered around God’s Word, confession and absolution, the creeds, and the sacraments.
PRAISE TEAM
Our Immanuel Praise Team is made up of drums, guitar, bass guitar, acoustic/electric guitar, keys and vocals (high school aged and up). We play popular Christian music (generally post-2003) and lead the 11:00am and sometimes the 9:30am services. Our Immanuel North Praise Team also plays popular Christian music and leads the contemporary services at our satellite campus.
ADULT CHOIR
The Adult Choir is made up of approx. 20 men and women (high school aged and up). We sing 2-4 part sacred choral music that ranges from Baroque-era pieces by Bach and Handel to modern church music composers. We rehearse weekly and sing at all the Heritage services that include the celebration of holy communion.
HANDBELL CHOIR
The Handbell Choir is made up of 10-12 men and women that rehearse weekly and help lead the Heritage services, generally once a month. We play sacred music and will occasionally accompany the organ/piano in leading hymns in worship.
For people who are interested in joining Adult Choir or Handbells, please contact Aaron Kortze at akortze@immanuelbelvidere.org for Adult Choir and Donna Gutzler at mdgteach1@comcast.net for Handbells.
